You’ve likely heard about rising oil and gasoline prices. Who hasn’t? You’ve also probably heard the term “peak oil”, but just dismissed it because the term means nothing to you. Before you move on and dismiss it completely, let’s take a closer look. Peak Oil is one of the most important phrases of our generation.

I’ve compiled a brief list of resources for you to read about Peak Oil, beginning with an introductory primer on the concept and the effects on our way of life:

Peak Oil Primer - 2007

Peak Oil Primer Revisited - 2008

Matt Simmons on CNBC

Wall Street Journal - 4 Voices of Oil Crisis

Newsweek - The Coming Energy Wars

These resources should get you started. After these, you won’t likely feel as comfortable as you did with your life and your future.

The purpose of this post and this website is not to encourage panic or fear. The purpose is to make people aware of the real state of things so they can make mature decisions to proactively prepare.

Many of the posts on this site will involve updates on the state of Peak Oil. We want to make sure you know this is serious. We urge you to take this seriously. On the flipside, we also want to provide you with some encouragement and suggestions of what you can do to prepare.

Not everyone will suffer during an economic depression. Nearly everyone DOES suffer from food shortages, however. If that’s where we’re headed, and it looks like it is, everyone is responsible to take action now.
